Moxie Bookkeeping is currently searching for a Senior Bookkeeper/ Account Manager who has a passion for going beyond the numbers.  This is someone who combines a deep technical expertise with relationship building, mentorship, and the ability to speak to creative business owners using language and an approach that deeply fits their needs.  The right person for this senior role on the Moxie Bookkeeping Team is highly organized, a skilled multitasker, and a go-to expert who is ready and willing to share their experience and knowledge with other team members and especially with clients. 

Of course, the right person is also comfortable working remotely and is capable of connecting effectively in a virtual space with multiple clients. What you’ll be responsible for: 

Senior Bookkeeper/ Account Manager Responsibilities: 

Note: Bookkeeping functions in this tier will apply to clients with more challenging needs (e.g., multiple currencies, multiple entities, larger teams, complex app integrations, etc.)

  • Owning the client relationship and becoming a trusted partner, acting as the primary point of contact for clients, managing the scope, budget, and timeline of projects
  • Providing mentorship to the client’s in-house bookkeeping team, developing their skill and capability
  • Connecting effectively with all clients and accounts to ensure effective updates, analysis and the transfer of information
  • Provide a strategic view of clients’ reporting and act as an advisor to the business owner on how to action finding and correct issues 
  • Evaluate clients’ systems and provide innovative suggestions to streamline or clarify
  • Managing full-cycle, end-to-end accounting for multiple clients, providing “soup to nuts” support, including all daily, weekly and monthly accounting activities
  • Act as clients Liaison to CPAs – teach clients how to ask their accountant questions and what to do with the answer given 
  • Perform deep-dive reviews of clients’ books, review findings with clients, and create a scope of work to address issues
  • Provide monthly reporting and analysis, GL Entries, reconciliation reviews, payroll mapping and troubleshooting, along with other high-level bookkeeping activities

Moxie Team Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate effectively within the Moxie Team to share knowledge, problem-solve, innovate and create together
  • Master our internal tools (i.e., Status Update, Manual, Management Software) to ensure excellent tracking and compliance
  • Expertly communicate with the entire Moxie Team to create connections that support each other and our clients
  • Provide mentorship and share expertise with full-charge bookkeepers and assistants to assist them with higher-level work as needed by their clients.
  • Commit to at least 3 hours of professional development every quarter, and be prepared to share that new learning with the team!

Technical “Must Haves”:

  • Must have QBO and Xero Certifications and be committed to maintaining them. 
  • 5-7 years full-charge experience working with QB Online, Xero, including: 
  • Job Costing and Reporting
  • Class/Location/Tracking
  • Servicing clients with more complicated needs (such as multiple entities, multiple currencies, complex app integrations, etc.)
  • Senior level experience with year-end closing entries and 1099 production
  • Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as familiarity with Google Workplace (Calendar, Drive, etc)
  • Experience and/or willingness to learn Application Integrations such as Hubdoc, Receipt Bank, Bill.com, Shopify, Harvest, etc.
  • Fluent English: well-spoken, and possess strong writing skills
  • Home computer with reliable, high-speed internet

Preference is given to candidates with a background in Profit First (or a willingness to learn and get certified)

Candidates without prior Profit First experience will be provided with a copy of the book to read as part of our hiring process

Candidates without prior Profit First experience will be asked to do some reading and research as part of the process to understand the PF process.

Successful candidates will be asked to become Profit First certified with Moxie support of course!
